Paradise

I tried to read the Quran. Tried being the keyword. What I found out is that it is very difficult to read the book in any language that isn’t Arabic. Because it is so difficult, very few people have actually read it which makes it really easy to misinterpret. A single line can indeed say that it is okay to kill someone non-muslim, but when you read that in the actual context it says that you would only be allowed to do so in self defense, if they form a threat to you and very preferably not at all.

Like this, there are many wrong quotations. One that personally surprised me a lot, was the ‘promise’ of 77 virgins once you get to the paradise. The number 77 is nowhere to be found in the Quran. The virgins are not meant to be actual virgins, but this refers to the virgin state of the body in the afterlife, as the Quran teaches that Allah will let his followers be reborn into the paradise.
The only thing the Quran tells you about the paradise, is that it exists of gardens watered by flowing waters and that loved ones will be waiting in green robes with golden decorations.
